Ombudsman Needed
The Area Agency on Aging of the Concho Valley Council of Governments is accepting
applications for a volunteer position to perform duties as an ombudsman for
the Junction and Bronte area nursing homes. An Ombudsman is a specially trained
individual who advocates for quality of care and helps residents achieve
the best possible quality of life in nursing and assisted living facilities.
This is an ideal position for those who are retired or semi-retired
although anyone over the age of 18 can apply. An application process
and consent to background check is required for the protection of the
residents. Training is provided free of charge and can lead to official
certification as an advocate with the Texas Long-term Care Ombudsman
Program.
