Join the Chamber Cruise 2012 to Glacier
Bay!!!
We are now starting to accept deposits, $350 per person, and the
cruise isn’t till NEXT June, so you’ll have plenty of time to get some
coins together for your trip! Here are the particulars:
We sail from Seattle, WA on June 9,
2012, on the ms Westerdam—Holland America Cruise Line for a 7-day
cruise. We will visit the ports of Juneau, AK, tour Glacier Bay, visit
port of Sitka, AK, Ketchikan, and Victoria, British Columbia, CA,
returning to Seattle, WA on June 16th, 2012. We will take a
bus from Junction, Texas to Dallas, TX to board a non-stop flight to
Seattle, WA on June 8, 2012. We will have hotel rooms for the night of
June 8, 2012, as we felt it was just too hard a trip to try and
accomplish from Junction to Alaska all in one day! The cruise line will
transfer us from the airport in Seattle, WA, to the motel that evening,
and then transfer us again to the Dock on June 9, 2012 (the next day)
for sailing. The cruise line will also transfer us from the dock to the
airport on the day we return to Seattle, WA, June 16th for
our flight back to Dallas, TX, and bus ride home that same day. The
Hotel is the Sheraton Hotel-Downtown in Seattle, WA. We chose to stay
downtown to allow our cruisers to explore Seattle a bit the evening we
arrive and morning we depart, because the hotels at the airport are
about 20 miles from the interesting part of Seattle, i.e. they are in
“the middle of nowhere”. The cost for the Hotel and Transfers (all of
them) is approx.. $177 per person. The Charter Bus from Junction to
Dallas will be approx.. $200 per person if we have 20 aboard the bus, or
$125 if we have 30 aboard the bus. Please keep in mind that these
prices I just quoted are all subject to change as this is planning a
year in advance and none of us can foresee the cost of fuel, etc., but
we don’t expect any major change. There are four basic types of
staterooms, but there are some variances within each category.
Stateroom Costs are as follows (**based on Double Occupancy (includes
cruise, taxes & port fees) and subject to change) Often we get to take
advantage of a promotion that the cruise line issues closer to our
cruise date, so prices could actually go down!)
Stateroom Costs: Inside Cabins (NO
window) $1,178.11 per person; Ocean View Cabins (window) $1,528.11
per person; Balcony Cabins $1,878.11 per person; Superior Suites
$2,278.11 per person.
Everyone on the ship pays $11 per
day gratuity or $77 per person for the cruise. This is the tip for your
room steward, dining room waiter, etc.
You can purchase travel insurance
and the cost begins at $99 and goes up to over $200 per person,
depending on the cost of your stateroom

This is a fun trip with a fun bunch! The Holland America Line is an
established cruise line and promises to host a wonderful, elegant cruise
for us! I represent the Chamber on these cruises and am always around

better! Alaska is beautiful country and the Glacier Bay portion of the
